Cheap tranny build?

Looking to hold about 600 horse I have a 2001 lb7 I know it won't be cheap but not trying to kill my bank account totally. Any ideas would be awesome!

600hp build is going to be a full build. There really is no "cheap" build.

Don't go cheap. Do it right the first time. Get ahold of mike l and be done with it. Why would you want a cheap trans build?

I'm in the ballpark of 4k and this is daily driven and sees a 8k pound trailer every now and then. I don't need a crazy build just trying to beef it up

I'd keep looking, if it's purple run and hide. Plenty of great builders on here.

I'm in fort collins CO bout an hour from Denver. I'm look to build my allison. I don't want to buy a different trans unless it's a better deal overall

ATS in general is not something i would ever put in my trans. there are many better options out there. Suncoast, Mike L, ect.

About 4500 is going to be the going rate. Obviously if you have the trans shipped to you it'll cost a bit more. Do you plan on installing it yourself?

No I don't. Don't have the tools. But just installation shouldn't be to bad on my pocket

If you had tools and a little know how then you could budget. With neither your paying MSRP for off the shelf trans; which budgeting would just lead to future expenses that cost even more then "doing it right".

king, you will find out VERY quickly that there is no such thing as "cheap" when you're talking about extra power in a Duramax.
IMO, if you cant afford to build the trans correctly, then you should lower your power goals, too.

If you could take it out and install it yourself you could be under 4k. couple hours at 95 an hour shop cost

I have 230k on the old girl. And some of you fellas are misunderstood on what I mean by cheap, I mean I don't wanna spend a ton of money like anything over 5 grand. I want a nice build that doesn't devastate my pocket.
