I just changed the pitman arm on my 05 2500HD 4x4. I also have inner and outer tie rods to replace. I removed the steering box to change the arm. Now the steering wheel is off center a few degrees. So the question is how to fix it. Can this be fixed by the alignment or do I have to disconnect the steering link and try it there first?

How far off? There is an alignment tab on the intermediate shaft were it mounts to the steering box, I would guess you did not get it aligned correctly, if not then it would be the alignmnet of the pitman arm but your steering wheel would be way off if that was mis-aligned..

Not that far off maybe 20 degrees. When I attached the coupler to the steering box it didn't seem there was enough play to put it together off a spline. I wasn't sure if I should mess with it before I changed the tie rods and took it to the alignment shop.

By the way the parts, idler arm, idler bracket, pitman and tierods are all Moog ordered from Amazon.
