I had this happen to the first radio I had in the truck. Luckly it was still under warranty so I got a new one. I tried all kinds of shit to get it out. Nothing worked. If this ones takes a dump on me, i'm going to get a fancy DVD touch screen thing that I can't work but at least it will look cool.:cool2:

Thanks :D

I'll let her know you said so.

On the radio - I thought of getting one of the fancy in-dash dvd players too...until I saw the price of the installation harness for Onstar and such

I haven't done it yet but when I was talking to the guy about it, he said he would trow all that in for free. I don't have On Star but I got the steering wheel controls and he we put the "box" in and wire it up for free, no additional charge. I have no idea what he was talking about but it sounded good to me. He could have been trying to rip me off on the other stuff too, I don't know.

I looked at DVD players at Best Buy and was quoted (iirc)$150-200 for the Onstar harness, another $50 for the harness to hook up the radio, don't remember the antenna adapter, and ~$70 for the steering wheel control box...all on top of the stereo price

The ipod works fine...if I really want the changer working I'll buy a used one off ebay.

geezus....

That's a lot of money on top of the cost of the radio thingy. I wounder why he was going to do it for free? That DVD player was $1000.00 alone. He said I could hook up an amp and a few more t.v.'s in the headrest's later if I wanted them. He talked the radio up like it was a good one. I told him it should be pretty bad ass for a grand. He wanted to put an amp on the underside of the backseat. To keep it off the floor, so I could still use it (floor). All the wires and stuff would have been ran in the frame of the back seat. Sounded hard and a lot of work to me.

Wow I sure hope all that was included in that price. I've priced some really nice DVD players before and they were around $700 so I'm guessing he had already added all that in.

A guy I work with has his factory stereo he said I could have if I wanted so I may go that route. It is the factory CD that he took out when he put in his system.

don't go to best buy. go to a small stereo shop, they will give you a better price on 99% of anything you want
