Looking to avoid paying almost $30 for a 1r0750 and would like to grab a pack of em.

However, I can't find a single dealer that offers packs of em. Where do you guys get em from?

I'd recommend against the CAT brand filter, I was told my a reliable source the Donaldson was better and cost less. I'm probably going to run the 2 micron Fleetguard version since the Cummins uses the same one, I think they go for $10-11 each.

Check a local dealer and get them cheap. You should be able to buy a box. The 1r0750 filter is a 2 mic nominal at 99% efficiency. Im just curious why you think they arent good?

I was told by "Nick Tane" that for the money the Donaldson was as good or better than the CAT 1R750 version, and if I was buying in bulk to not chase the yellow stuff.

Maybe the interwebs lied to me?

the cat filters are built to a higher standard than donaldson. take your pick, it doesnt really matter. i can tell you though that i have seen donaldson and fleetgaurd filters both collapse before, ive never seen a cat filter collapse and about 95% of the filters that i see are cat. i think i only pay like 12 bucks apiece for my filters.

Ask about a drop box. I live 2 hrs from the nearest CAT dealer, but they have a local drop box, I was told. That may or may not be an option for you.:thumb:

On a whim, contacted my friends Napa supplier, they have their equivalent filters but I think they are rated differently? Absolute vs nominal?

If CAT is better please explain. I figured my source was decent, but I took him at his word, perhaps you could enlighten us both.

I know the NAPA crosses with Fleetgaurd FF5320, they do alot of WIX, but I'm not sure about it's ratings. Do you have a part number?

Not for nothing but perhaps Nick, owner of Nick-Tane , that his profit margin is better with the Dondalson compared to the Cat filter?

I'm not saying Nick would steer you wrong ,I happen to know him, but take the info with a open mind and do some research not just a opinion unless he has actually supplied independent data to back up his claim that Dondalson filters are as good or better then a Cat filter of the same filtering specs.

Just saying no Stud here! :D

No, do not have the Napa cross number.

CAT/Baldwin are absoulte rated, and Wix/Napa are nominal.
http://www.lenntech.com/library/fine/absolute/absolute-nominal-filters.htm

Just a quick search resulted in that, not 100% on the info.
I use Napa gold and Wix filters for my lift pumps. The water see is 3 micron at 68% nominal and the fuel filter is 2 micron absolute after that just throw the topside filter away.. .....Oh and the filter you can get extra deep 2 micron adso. also not sure about the water sep and both filters are 14-1 base.
