And can go 1,200 frames per second in movie mode:

I'm trying to find some "real world" reviews of it. I've been looking for something that would take "fast" images for a long time. I ended up with a Canon S2 IS but it can't hang with drag race launches. 4 frames per second is 0.25 seconds apart. Can't get the launch predictably.

The EX-F1 also "buffers" the shots. You hold down the button half way, and it starts recording high-res images in a buffer. When you push the shutter all the way, it will capture both BEFORE and after you snap the shutter. So if your react is a bit slow, it will get it anyhow.

Pretty pricey though at $1000. But it is the fastest digital camera in the world by a huge margin. Cameras selling for $8000 cannot match it's speed.

Maybe SlowLmm will chime in, I know he has a camera that shoots pretty fast, fast enough to capture tons of pics of Chris in the Henry J

i don't have money to drop on something nice like that, hell i can't even afford a cheap $200 digi cam, but for what it does, it sounds like an awsome for the price to me....

I have EOS 40D SLR I love my camera it takes killer shots and will shoot extreamley fast in burst mode. and will also shoot untill the cf card runs out.
the one draw back of the casio i see is the recording media as i didint think tht was fast enough media to suport the camera. but i could be wrong also i would check to see how many pics in a row you can snap with the casio at the speeds it says. Another big thing to look at is the lenses to see the quality of the shots and at what distances the quality deminshes. It looks like a nice camera for a good price. :)

I've been reading more, but there is only a little info so far. The Casio is perhaps a OneTrickPony, as it's major feature is speed.

It will take sixty "6-meg" images in a row without stopping. This can be 60 per second for 1 second, or 15 per second for 4 seconds, or 4 per second for 15 seconds.

It can even "slow down" action so you can get a precise shot. The viewfinder can go in slow motion for a few seconds to help you pick the shot.

Basically just for "trick shot" fotos. But...

Nothing wrong with having too much speed! 1/40,000th of a sec shutter.

What a nice thing for a :witch: to say. :D:hug:

Well I should have this camera on Friday. He made me buy it though

Now just hope the safety equipment gets done in time for this weekend. Worst comes to worst I will make him do a wheelie on his dirt bike to try it out

dont forget a tripod if you want clean phots at those speeds

I have one. If he is racing I will find someone to hand the camera off to.

I may be a worry wart but I'm following in the chase vehicle. What bites is if he is lucky he will get 2 runs and has to start the license process over again. So, first pass has to be 150 or less, 2nd if he gets it 175 or less.

he owns/runs CMM machines, I just run them.
we measure stuff in microns, take a hair and split it into 100 equal slices = 1 micron.

so technically speaking it's finer than a frog hair

It falls into tool and diemaker work here to run a CMM, which BTW gets a climate controlled room. If you're interested better be real good in math, we use a lot of trig and geometry plus instant metric conversions when dealing w/ general surpervisors :D

Need to play with the camera and actually read the directions

But, this one isn't bad. With Allison feet in the air going home to score and the girl going to first also :D
