Can anyone help me out to get the right carrier bearing or center support bearing on the driveshaft? I keep finding different if and almost think I need to take measurements to find out.

Truck is a 2005 3500 crew cab 4x4 dually. Thanks for any help!

Any brand recommendations?

Either call your local dealer with your VIN and ask them which one you have......or go to gmpartsgiant.com, input your VIN, then look in the drivetrain section. It should give you the part number for your truck. Then cross that with other brands.

Thanks! I kind of figured you could look them up like a normal part but that didn't work.

Same here, but like you said, RockAuto listed at least 3-4 different versions and different suppliers. Best to work off your VIN.

I didn't think they made a crew cab longer bed 1 pice. Probably too much money for me anyways.

2011 and up trucks now come with aluminum 1 peice drive shafts and bigger u-joints. its 700 bucks from dmaxstore but you may be able to source it cheaper at the dealer. i got mine from a buddy when he decided to sell his truck. its much nicer than the 2 piece

I bought mine at a dealer over a year ago for like 400.00 through work. My truck was eating carrier bearings and I had enough of that

Dang. Not bad! I will probably go with the bearing for now and when that goes out, upgrade the driveshaft. Need to sell my old truck, wife doesn't like me spending too much money on this thing right now. Also need to do the transfer case pump rub kit.

I'm thinking about just packing some windshield urethane where the bushing used to be till I figure the other stuff out like the 1 pice driveshaft and transfer case pump rub kit.

I do have a tiny bit of play at the back of the transfer case. How much is normal?

Wow, my chevy dealer sucks! I did get a 10% discount but still crazy price. This is just a quote and I did not buy from them. I asked if they could price match or at least get close and they said no. Loosers. They wanted over $900 for the 1 pice driveshaft.

I went with a $20 moog u-joint for now and will see about the carrier bearing when i pull the driveshaft.
