so last night i was driving around my area testing out some tunes i made. now in my area i have alot of straight roads to really open her up (was able to hit about 120mph :D ). well apparently i was pissing off some of my neighbors cause about an hour after getting home the cops are knocking on my door  they were trying to say that they would impound my truck for reckless driving and a bunch more B.S. so i ask them who saw my truck driving and what proof they have that it was actually me. well long story short they didn't have proof and they knew it, so they gave me a warning and said they'd be keeping an eye on me  so looks like i need to find another place to do my test and tune. has anybody here ever tried asking a low traffic small airport for some runway time or do you think they'll just laugh me out of there. i really need a place to open my truck up and the drag strips aren't open yet, need help anybody got any ideas?

I wouldn't test at night, very dangerous and I speak from experience. I was testing outside of town after dark and of course couldnt see out to the sides, only whats in front of the headlights. I hit a deer doing 90mph on a test run which cratered my Ranchhand bumper, if I had a stock bumper it would have taken out my radiator and trans cooler leaving me stranded.

Moral of the story, Test in the daylight, then you know whos watching you and what might get in your way. Drag strip would be the best, but a private road with permission would be a good second.

Lots of road to open her up on here, I doubt comeing to Canada is worth it though

I have 2 of my favorite roads, that are covered in black marks and only 5 minutes from my house, they even have a marker at the 1/4mile that some guy put on the side of the road:angel:

I always look for the industrial parks. On Saturday and Sunday everything is closed, during the week no dog walkers and business is closed after dark.

I tried an Airport, back in the day?, and they wouldn't let me fly there. :D CLaimed insurance liabilty and emergency landings.

When i find one i take my handy dandy lazar out and shoot 60'-330', 1/8th and the 1/4, then i look at the balance of road left to stop in.

Good luck.

yeah i didn't think the airport idea was all that good, but i'm still gonna ask. i've got two about 5 min from my house i'm certain they will say no way, but i won't find out till i ask. looks like my only hope is the dyno and the dragstrip. i can see this getting expensive fast  but if your gonna play you gotta pay :D

I found a nice open road 10 minutes from my office, cotton fields everywhere you look and can get 3 back to back 1/4 mile runs, usually with no traffic anywhere to be seen....
