Dropped the front plastic skid plate on my lbz today, and found this laying there.

The only thing that has been done to the front end since the last time I had the plastic skid plate off is the body shop fixing the front bumper. Any ideas what this goes to?

My google-foo must be weak, where exactly would this have come off of? I found postings about crankshaft bolts and harmonic balancers, but nothing on crankshaft nuts. Thanks for your help.

Front axle shaft nut doesn't have the overhang like that. As others are saying, it isn't from the truck. The mechanic probably dropped something unrelated while the truck was apart.

A 30mm socket will fit on it.

Seems like the consensus is that it is not part of the truck. I appreciate all of the help.
