I am farely mechanically inclined and am not scared of takign soemthign on...

DO YOU GUYS THINK I COULD INSTALL A Suncoast "V" TRANS. AT MY SHOP???

I have a Post lift and several air-actuated trans. jacks!!!

I don't have time to go to Florida to Suncoast or to Michigan to see Merchant for a transmission install, so I wonder If you think it is do-able at the shop???

Let me know what ya'll think!!! There just aren't any shops close to or even remotely near North Carolina!!!

HIT ME WITH IT, GOOD OR BAD!!!

Did mine with the help of a buddy, I had only dropped one tranny before (out of a landcruiser) and he hadnt done any before. It took us all day but we got er done!! The hardest part was getting the torque converter bolts in!!!! -Jeff

You can absolutely do it yourself, if you have a lift it will make things that much easier. Ecc_33 and I basically did 2 in 2 days.

I think just wrestling that thing around is the worst part. It really isn't that involved, just time consuming.

You definately won't be disappointed with the SCV.

If i do it myself, I won't get a Warranty with the transmision though will I???

My buddy had a guy in NC install his and it ahsn't been right since Day 1... Suncoast supposedly has been dodging him for amonth or so now about gettign it fixed!!!

I am scared somehtign liek this may happen to me, even if I follow directions on the install to the "T"...

If you take your time and keep everyting in order it's not all that hard. Sean built his SCIV first with a floor jack and jack stands. We had a lift when we built mine. Both Trannys are performing flawlessly after a lot of abuse.
Thank You Mike L.

It is my understanding that the warranty still applies. I am sure Mike L will chime in here and straighten us out! -Jeff

Mike L.,

I planned on gettign it from Suncoast!!! Merchant is about the same distance just up North!!

I guess I will go with whoever is closer with shipping and all!!

Price is not really a issue, I believe firmly in you get what you pay for..

i just don't have tiem right now to drive to Florida or Michigan for 2-4 days!!!

Thanks

WILL

The reason I asked who you were buying the unit from is it is a good idea buying from someone like Eric or myself because of our influence with SC in case of warranty issues or problems. This was not about price or trying to get a sale. I don't do that.
