camshaft or bent pushrods?

I think I might have bent a pushrod or a few or my camshaft might be off?
Anyone know what the motor will run like if my camshaft is messed up or off timing, heard of the pin breaking on them and stuff like that, or will they run at all when that happens?
it sounds like it is popping back threw the intake, did a compression check and didn't find any that where bad or low on compression.
Any input is much appreciated.

Not yet, gonna pull them next week, on a 06 duramax

if a cam pin sheered, your truck would run horrible and barely start, tons of smoke out of the exhaust etc. been down that road a few times.

as youv been told quite a few times, just pull the valve cover off

Reluctor ring

I would pull the crank sensor and check the reluctor ring. It sounds like it's loose.

I m goin to pull the valve covers when I get home, or at least one lol. Just trying to figure out what could of bent them. Wouldn't it have to bend a valve for it to make that intake noise or the camshaft be off timed?

wouldn't the reluctor ring cause a code for a sensor?

Not always

When it cranks does the motor sound even? If it's down on compression you will hear it cranking. Pull the covers and if there is nothing wrong check the wheel. It sucks chasing problems.

When I did my compression check none of them were really low, all about the same. I could hear noise threw the intake when I did the compression check. it starts easy and idles fine, just sounds like shit

hook shop air up to the compression tester hose with the #3 lash adjusters loosened up or on TDC compression stroke and listen for air though the intake. You may have some junk valves or guides.

When checking compression did any of the cylinders take any longer to reach their maximum pressure?

They also took about the same amount of strokes to pressure up or so it seemed

What did you find out? I've got a similar situation, got the heads off and nothing out of the ordinary yet except I found the valves were badly out of adjustment and an injector was missing the hold down button, I'm going to pull the front cover and check the cam pin next
