Came across a lly motor

Found a lly motor at A local junkyard . It's all there , but the guy says the 3rd cylinder is bad . I'm curious what it'd cost to slap new pistons and liners what not , kinda want it to just have for the garage to build slowly . Price is 500.00 us . Should I snag it ?

No liners in a Duramax but it could possibly get sleeved... If it's complete with fuel injectors, turbo, and acc. I would buy it for 500.

I'm sorry I'm used to big motors . Has everything except comp n harness my goal was to be able to build her on a stand in the garage and put it in a c20 or similar . I've done ls motors but never a diesel

Also I drive a daily lly , I think I had heard something about being able to send stock injectors out to get honed or whatever the word for it might be . Whatcha guys think ?
