I'd love to get in line for one... However, they look huge! Maybe they are still relatively light weight but they sure don't look it. Do look badass though.

Even the 1998-2002 Camaros were not light. IIRC, we were 3660lb after minor weight reduction, -spare, light wheels, -passenger seat, +driver.

But for those with families, they can do something the Corvette can't: carry kids in the back seat.

I had a 2000 SS Camaro and loved that car. I regret selling it.

If the Z28 is gonna have the LS3 with 400 HP. What category does that put the SS in? Vette,GT500,SRT8????

That car is gonna be sweeeet:D

Nothing has been said about an SS version yet. Also if the Z28 winds up with the LS3 it will probably be detuned like they did during the end of the 4th gen. If there is an SS version it will probably be an appearance mostly model with maybe 10hp more then the Z28, again like they did during the 4th gen days.

If Nick doesn't sell me his Chevelle, I think I will be in the market for one of these!! I hope they will be supported by EFI!!

Chevy has always kept the Camaro from being the Top Dawg in the lineup as far as HP goes. If the base Corvette is 425 in 2010, that is the most power they will probably put in the Camaro, at least on paper.

Unknown except to the hardcore enthusiasts, the 305HP Z28 put out just as much HP on a dyno as the 345HP Corvette. Mostly because they had the same engine! :D

My 2000 SS Camaro was badged at 320HP and made 312rwhp as delivered at 700 miles. Certainly it had more the 8HP driveline loss. The Corvette that year was badged 350HP. Same engine except minor details, same output.

it would be sweet if they would make the ss more powerful and NOT just an appearance package like the 4th gen camaros. Compete with the saleens and roush mustangs (not the body kit ones, the ones with superchargers,etc.). :D
