If we could only get a Duramax that's without cam, crank and rods , would cut build cost in half lol.
It's coming, less friction, better control of emissions. At first they tried solenoids then pizo, both were not as reliable as needed. When they figure it out ultra mileage engines will start to evolve very fast...
I don't see how. They eliminate the cam, lifters, pushrods, rockers, timing chain and gears...all to be replaced by a solenoid.I bet once they get them figured out they will spin some serious rpm.
They have these is their hyper cars already so imagine the are close to that mark

So if its oil pressure / air pressure to open the valves, will it be like the older diesels that use HiPO to fire the injectors and have to "wind up" building oil pressure before it can open the valves and fire.
