caltrac setup tips

got my caltracs on a couple weeks ago and need tips for setup, i am not getting wheel hop but want the best setup for traction also. how tight/loose are you guys running yours at, or i will do some reading if you guys have some info to read , and will try some diff setups at the track in spring but wanted to see if i can learn from others experience first .

I have run a little extra pre-load (3/4 turn) on the driver's side. It has helped on street driving but I have not noticed much change at the track. I definitely need to do something to quite them down when I carry a load in the bed...

Our trucks our totally different Im sure, however on my mustang I tightened them down to where they just touch the leafs no more and it worked the best at the track. My 60's dropped from mid 1.6's down to consitant 1.51-1.54. Try less preload and see how they work.

Like Acoombs said. I started last season with lots of preload to stop wheel hop (3/4 turn after touch). Axle wrap stopped, but I thought that I still got wheel spin too easy. At the time 60's were high 1.7's to low 1.8's.

At the end of the year, I had backed off preload to the point of just touching the spring. By softening up like this 60's dropped to pretty consistent 1.69-1.72. I thought it was a pretty impressive drop for only tuning the CalTracs with no other suspension mods.

good information guys , i will try loosening them up. i'll have to wait till the track to really know how they are working , because my truck always hooks hard on the street just not at the track .
