C 5500 ecm's locking up?

I really want to tune my service truck which has a lly in it. I know when we had a box tuner on my uncles 04 lb7 4500 after 3 engine starts it locked the ecm up and had to be tow'd to a dealership for a full ecm reflash. How many people have locked up ecm's on these bigger trucks while tuning them? My truck is a turd and really could use around 100hp more BAD. I just don't want to lock up the ecm and have to explain it to my boss

I tuned a buddies 06 c5500 motorhome. All i did was bump some of the limiters up. GM really limited the hell out of them even more so then just a "lly" tune in a lbz

I had heard they were derated more like 250hp rather than the 300hp.

I locked one up. The only one I have ever had a problem with in 6 years. Not a good day.

I had one a few days ago that was brought in locked up. I was able to bring it back by full flashing it with EFILive.

I wouldnt be surprised. Stock tune limited pulse to 1100uS. All i did was change limiters to jump it to 1500uS and wow did it wake up. Even then it was still limiting fuel from a potential 1700uS but we were afraid of hurting the trans in that heavy boat.

Yea, my truck weights 20,800lbs with the bed empty so its a heavy pig! i just need to wake it up alittle.
