Bypassing Bose

Going with an aftermarket head unit and have already upgraded the speakers and installed a sub with amp using a PAC 24. I'll get the PAC OS-2 and SWI-JACK.

I'd like to defeat all the Bose stuff now, lose chimes :woott:, lose Blonde Star, and keep steering wheel controls and rear DVD. I'd like to have the option of easily going back to stock years from now.

Researched quite extensively but can't find some info;

Is there an aftermarket harness to use at the Bose amp to splice into the speaker wires?

or

Which connector and which wires are the corner speakers?

Any other advise is welcomed...

Metra also has a steering wheel adapter but I'll go with the PAC, my other adapter worked fine.

I'll need an antenna adapter of course.

I searched through GM Specs but couldn't find wiring diagrams from Henry on the Bose. I may have to ask him unless someone can post about Bose speaker wiring?

When I had my kenwood in dash installed they told me they sell a module to keep all that stuff working, but I like not having the chimes so.......

If you are going with new speakers run new speaker wire as the stock stuff sucks but leave it in if you ever want to go back to stock.

I ended up bypassing everything I used the stock power and that was it the rest is new added in everything I needed. No door/seat ding. Onstar is 100% pulled out. Steering wheel controls work 100%.

Best piece of advice I can give you:

Call DuratotheMax. Ben's a damn genius with electrical stuff.
IIRC, he posted a sticky in the electrical section at the Place that covers this exact thing. Tells which adapters do what for what options.

I was hoping Ben would post here. I've read his stereo FAQ at the place 100 times lol, just doesn't address exactly what I want.

Edit; Checked Ben's stats and he has been pretty much inactive lately which I've noticed. I'll bug Henry instead...

The Gm specs will not help much on this but I can try them but give me your gin were Gm service info is looking for your setup. Crunchfield is always the best way for getting everything to work they sell it with the radios. I hate wiring in a radio lol.
