Testing the BW race cover tonight on the twins , i was pleased with the results ,and for the $$ it was decent ,was hoping for a bit more from the claims on air flow difference , and still have more testing to do , especially once i can turn the power up and do back to back tests with full race tunes .
the results from the testing were ........................
tuning = 2200 usec EFI live tune
truck = 2001 crew cab LB , 8" lift , 35" tall tires on 20's
elevation 4700 ft ( slc , ut )
EGT's 1190-1220
Boost 41 psi ( 25 top 16 secondary )
The conclusion= it is a touch more air , I picked up 3 psi boost , and didnt measure before and after EGT's on this tune , but was able to run 150-200 usec more fuel at about the same EGT's , spool up was the same from 0-5 but seemed a hint quicker after that on the SOTP meter . all in all for 300 bucks you cant really complain and bang for the buck is def there IMOP but dont expect to see a major difference between the 2 , I suspect a bigger difference though when the fueling increases but could be wrong , we will see . another thing the standard cover is def louder than the race cover when it comes to "whistle" , COUGH , COUGH Ben
Also found with adjusting the gate that the higher the total boost # made a bigger difference than making sure to get more out of the secondary , and def found a sweet spot were getting the most boost out of the second charger through gate adjustment with out dropping the overall boost seemed to be the best for EGT's at this power level anyway , need to do similar testing with DP to see if the same holds true , I was able to adjust to 50/50 but lost 5-8 psi over all even though the secondary was putting out more the top turbo was putting out sustantialy less boost , and EGT's went up 50-75 deg ( 1250-1275) I found it interesting . Def have alot more testing to do to get concrete results as alot of variables can play a role.
