Im new to Diesels truck and looking to get into one. I have found an 07 2500 Duramax with 129,456 miles on it for $20,000. It has 6" lift, aftermarket wheels and tires with around 1k miles on them, EFI live, front and rear ranch hand bumpers, DPF delete 75 gal fuel tank intake and maybe few more mods.

Anyways, what are some things i need to check for when buying a slightly modded diesel? Had rebuilt tranny with warranty for another year.

How many miles can i expect these motors to last? I dont know how it has been driven, but i plan to romp on it some, but also just use it for towing medium loads and commuting. Whats and average mileage b4 she starts to crack up?

Like i said, i dont know alot about diesels yet, and learning slowly. The guy said it had the DPF deleted.

The truck is an 07 Classic with the 8th letter of Vin being D.

Anything particular i should look at on this truck to make sure nothing is wrong with it?
I did turn the programer up to see what she had and seemed like it shifted hard and maybe to fast, but this could be how he has it set?

With only 129,000 on the truck you should be just fine from what i have experianced you might be ready for a water pump altenator some small stuff like that 20,000 you got a lot of truck for a great deal hopefully the guy had some sort of a good trans kit installed and didnt just rebuild it to stock,if it shifts fast that could mean higher pump presure or a shift kit, diesels make alot of torque and you dont want it spongy in between shifts make sure you do the pump rub fix on the transfercase if it hasnt been done already we lost 2 mine and a work truck for my moms bussiness due to the pump rubbing a hole in the transfer case and all fluid leaked out and the t case ate itself its a common thing on these

It has a fully rebuilt Sun Coast tranny. Siad it still has a year warranty.

Is this a good tranny for the HP it would be putting out with Live chip, intake and turbo back exhaust?
