It is difficult to mess up taking the bell housing/front drum/c3 out of them IMO. There are enough youtube videos that make that job easy (Truck Master has a pretty decent one).

To clarify, wasn't saying it to be a dick, I just don't want to see you waste money/time.
It's time to get this done, I'm going to try and order parts today. How deep should I go into this trans? I'm trying to get an idea of which seals to buy since they seem to all be sold separately.

I think I'm going to just have gm flush it, slap a LML converter in there and run it until it breaks, if it ever does... I've been watching truck masters video and I could pull it all apart but I wouldn't know what to look for anyways as far as damage. Worst case scenario is I ruin a $450 converter. At that point it would be getting a full rebuild with something better than a LML converter anyways. Thanks for all the help guys

So I noticed the pan is bent up a little in the middle on the passenger side. So I wondered if it got the internal filter if that could have cause a fluid starvation issue taking out the converter. So I talked to the guy I purchased the truck from and he said when he changed the fluid and filters there was no problem with the internal filter sitting in there correctly. Ill probably put a new pan on just because but obviously he put a new filter in without issue so.. just rackin my brain

I know the discussion has moved past it, but here's a quick video I made about the hot flush machine. I made it because I was telling Mike about it not long after I got it. He was in the market for a new cooler flush machine, and he wanted to see how it worked. I guess he liked it since he started using them not long after.

It makes a nice hand warmer too. When Mike did the trans in the ‘07, it was cold as shit that day 🥶.
