You should do routine compression testing, and when it falls 10% tear down right away.

I had run 754rwhp with a stock engine, but not for long. First symptom was white smoke on startup, then came a rough idle. Compression test showed all cylinders low, IIRC, the lowest being 250psi. All rods were bent, but otherwise good, so all I had to do was get new rods for it, and could reuse the pistons without even boring.

Going to do a compression test today. Truck is parked for the winter and it will get built in the off season:cool:

That is AWESOME #'s for stock rods...............Mine didn't make it that far before bending/shortening all 8.:(

it was the straightdeisel truck pull in peachland. dunbars showed up. it was supposed to be on the 10th but got cancelled due to weather and moved to this weekend.
