Really short video tough to tell, I had a sound that changed with rpm which I thought was a cracked flex plate but it was torque converter bolts that backed out from the holes in the flex plate being oval.

I'll try to upload a longer video.

Went back to the shop. Shop said that the noise was caused from the fluid being low. This is a really good friends truck. I've spent more time working on his truck than my own. I'm having a hard time believing this sound was caused by low fluid.

That sounds pretty similar to what mine sounded like when my old converter let go. i thought it was flexplate at first also but turned out to be the converter. not saying that is 100% your problem but just my past experience

Well the shop is done with the truck said the only thing that was wrong was low fluid. We won't make it down to pick it up till Sunday so Sunday afternoon we will play with it some and see if everything is alright.

Well we drove the truck the 3+ hours back yesterday afternoon. No noise when we picked it up. The truck was shifting extremely hard into 4th gear. I guess he's going to try romping on it a bit and see if she holds together. The shop won't look any further into the problem, they are sure that it was just low fluid.

I would not be romping on a hard 3/4 shift. That indicates a tie up. Do a lot of stop and go driving easy and get more aggressive as the shifts get better.
