To the guys runnin lml cranks in their built motors. How are they holdin up? I've seen Wagler and a couple other companies on Facebook lately posting broken lml cranks and pushin the new Callies compstar. Wagler claims the lml is the weakest crank so I was just curious how they are holdin up.

They (LML cranks) hold up no better than any other factory 01-16 crank

They are the best stock crank option. They are harder and they are cheaper. They have limits like any other part. The Compstar crank is designed for a reliable 800 hp according to the Callie's tech that I spoke with. The Callie's crank is about 2.5 times the cost. So if you are going for better options use the high dollar Callie's or Bryant's crank in the narrowed rod forms.

So if a narrow rod crank isn't in your budget. You would be taking a gamble with the compstar just as you would be with a stock crank?

Time will tell. I believe the failures are from a physical design flaw. If not it would have to be a manufacturing flaw. If it were a manufacturing flaw seems like GM would have figured that out and corrected it. Those areas that break just don't have enough material there.

X2. Biggest reason people use them is because they are substantially less costly than lb7-lmm.

For mild builds I would have no problem reccommending one of these with an af cam.

I screwed up my post (and deleted) but I linked to Callie showing that crank is rated for 800hp@800ftlbs. I'm like - da fuq?
