LLY: Built motor, duel cp3, gtx4088, stock injectors?

So I just bought a new to me Lly, motor was freshly rebuilt by Ppe this past May. Some specs include carrillos, Mahale pistons, stage 2 heads, duel cp3, inter cooler kit, and the new gtx4088. But it's never been efi tuned, and it's running stock injectors and NO lift pump. So I know I need to add an airdog and get it tuned correctly. But what's the max I'll see from stock injectors? I'm amazed it wasn't running a lift pump. But it was just a daily driver.

You'll definitely need a lift pump before you'll see anything of the sort. If I were you, I'd get 60-100 over injectors. It'll make it easier on your motor and you currently have zero room to grow.

That was my next question, lower pulse width the better right? These are brand new injectors, can I just get nozzles? Or does an injector shop have to make the change?

Correct, bigger injector lower pulse width. You have a few options. You could just send yours out and have them enlarged, you can purchase nozzles that are already done and swap them, or you can buy complete injectors and sell your stock ones. Personally I'd send your current ones out to Exergy as new injectors and have them turned into 100 overs.

anything more really than 500-550 is not helping the engine to make power.

Not sure ive ever seen a track proven 650rwhp on stock injectors... only on a dyno that doesn't prove anything.

Thanks for the input, I'll be looking into getting them honed

Brett went low 9's with his lift pump off. Not sure why it would be hard on the pumps, they are designed to suck fuel. 600hp would be way too mux pulse on stock injectors anyways

If I can get away with no lift pump that would be great. I seem to have bad luck with them anyways. I will definitely go bigger on the injectors though before tuning it

Oh I thought you were going to leave the stockers. I would probably go ahead and do a pump, I was just stating that they will support that power.

No it seems better to keep the pulse width lower. And I believe the gtx4088 can support up to 750, not that I have a need for that much power

Definitely add a lift pump, seems ridiculous to spend all that money building a motor and NOT even tune it  Do you know the guy? get receipts? or talk to PPE about the build?

I have invoices and I spoke with Rick at Ppe. They checked the truck out for me.

Congrats on the new truck! :thumb:

I would send your complete injectors to Exergy and have them hone and balance them as a assembly.

Good :thumb: and congrats on the new truck! As already suggested I would send your current injectors out to Exergy and have them honed at least 60% flow'd and balanced. Not sure what pumps you have had bad luck with in the past but I have had really good luck with Air Dog.
