Decided since winter is seemingly over with thanks to the 60*F weather, today would be the day to bring the paint back to life. Completely clayed, polished, waxed, etc. sprayed everywhere salt could possibly sit, detailed the motor, etc.

Anyway, when i was making my rounds with Simple Green to remove the usual oil blowby on the boots, i noticed where my EGR plate is installed there was some oil/soot buildup there as well...wasn't sure if this is normal?

Bolts still seem plenty tight and i tapped the tab lightly with a hammer to make sure it was seated properly when installed last summer...just as curious if its normal or not

If you didnt do a PCV reroute at the same time you will fill the EGR cooler with oil and when your driving your putting the oil under pressure and its finding a way out at the blocker plate. You will find that if you open it back up to remove the blocker plate you will get a bunch of nasty oil come out of the EGR cooler.
