Anybody out there using either of these...especially in the 01-02 models?

Pros and con's of whatever brand you are using.

Personally, I like Ben's electronics, but he lacks on customer service and response time. Fleece shifter seems a little more user friendly. Help me make a decision.

I would love to get one to, only down side i have heard is you have to update to a newer TCM tune to get the tap shifter to work and i am not willing to give up that up quite yet.

What's the matter with getting the new tune? I think it's just an update on the OD/4th gear lock.

That's the way I understand it anyway.

OK...I know that some guys like the 01 and earlierr 02 TCM because they shift better.

However, I think the update is just for the OD lockout, isn't it?

I have an 05 truck, an 01 trans, an 03 TCM tune, a DHD lock up box and a BD tapshifter. I have had good luck with the 03 OS and it solved my no G solenoid issues with the older trans and still allows OD lockout.

I have fleece on my 04.5 lly i like it. I use it more for stopping and descending on hills. I havent used it towing. It shifts a little slow so if you going to use it like a manual its not going to do it. The fleece is nice and put together well. Installs easy in 45 min or less. You do have an extra loose pin for yours (01-03) but it is easy to install. The handle takes a little getting used to. The ergonomics of it is a little different then stock.

Just buy a tapshifter for an 01-02 truck, run the latest revision of the 01 TCM, and your good to go. Still have all the things you like about the older TCM O.S.
