Just yesterday I noticed my truck was making a metallic rattle/jingle type sound (best way I can describe it). It's not super loud, but can be heard pretty cleary from the pass. side. It does it in park, reverse, drive, and also while slowly accelerating. It sounds like it's coming from either the front of the trans or back of the motor. The truck also now has an intermittent vibration that can be felt in the cab at idle, but I can't feel it if I put my hand on the trans pan. I pulled of the little inspection plate on the bellhousing and noticed there's about a 1/16" strip of paint missing off the converter. I reached around with my fingers as best I could and didn't find any metal shavings or anything. What do you guys think it could be? Thanks.

I was a little mean to it yesterday. Did a full throttle run from 0-160 km/h, and a 40' rolling burnout from 10 km/h, not brake boosting. Did a short drive this afternoon and was easy on it. In park and neutral I get a slight rattle/scrape sound when lightly revving it, and no sound when I rev it a little harder. In drive building boost there is no unusual noises and when you let off no noises either. When I shut the truck off it made a very noticeable scrape/ticking sound for a second.

After driving the truck for a few more days the rattle has become more noticeable. While just cruising it's quiet. It rattles lightly before shifts at light throttle. There are no strange noises when the converter locks hard of softly. And it rattles if the converter is locked or not. From 75mph rolling into it without downshifting it rattles pretty loud. A metalic rattle actually not very tinney now that I hear it more. I can't hear it under the hood, or around the front of the truck. It's most noticeable under the truck on the pass side with your head by the bellhousing. When I shut the truck off there is a rattle/scrape sound that the truck never made before. I'm going to check some stuff out tommorow, mostly see if there's something rattling against something else. Any more opinions? Flexplate? Turbo? Exhaust leak? Thanks for the help. :)

Well, it turns out that the flexplate was fine. I ended up going with a SoCal Diesel flexplate anyway though. When pulling it apart Ted noticed that some of the flexplate bolts were a little bit looser than the others. I also went with a PPE/Precision torque converter and it hasn't rattled since. :)
