Broke/Blown/Windowed Motors

Just a little poll ..........

What seems to be the common denominator for broken motors, cracked pistons or just plain ol' duramax motor failures :cool2: I've tried to keep up with all the misfortunes, and it seems, at least to me that over size injectors seem to be fairly common in breaking stuff , even more so than duel cp3's and big turbos.

I voted dual fuelers. I feel that is what in the long run did my motor in. If I didn't have them I wouldn't have made the power I was. Also not takin the time to tune the wastegate on the 366 to something the motor could live with.

Honestly I think its just the same with any engine-more power then the parts can stand. you need to plan a build with the parts to support what power level you want to reach.

I say stupid tuning for the givin supporting mods. , there is still thet limit when it dont matter that its just gonna fail but for the most part i think bigger power builds can live if done right!

I said stupid tuning. reason being you can detune all hard parts for the most part, you get into trouble when you ride the edge a little tooooo far but things such as broken cranks and some cases of cracked pistons are due to flaws in the material.
this is just what I believe

I voted stupid tuning, not because some push the limits of the hard parts, but rather they make tuning mistakes that cause serious problems.

I found that tuning plays the biggest role in engine longevity.

tuning (because PW wasn't an option) I was under the impression that reduced PW from injectors actually helped in most cases?
