This was built by Curtis Halverson @ Extreme Engine in Calgary.
I am not 100% on the build as last time I saw it it only had the heads on it but I believe it's a Dmax block and the heads started as Hemi heads I believe with ALOT of mods including roller rockers and a few other things.
I need to go see Curtis Friday if I am home from work by then and will try to squeeze more info out of him.
This thing is going to rip I believe!!

There's no Duramax in that engine. The block is billet alum, way over 500". The same engine and internals used in top fuel and funny cars. But with diesel pistons. Diesel heads are machined from billet to Curtis' design. Huge ports. He built the unusual rocker setup. Cam is to his spec.

Im pretty positive its a huge 500+cid hemi block with 500% lbz injectors. The heads I dont know about. Ive also been told its being tuned by Andrew. Whatever it is its amazing sounding and the free revs make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Same exact block. Heads have some really unique engineering.

Your probably right.
It was 6 months ago last I seen it. Saw alot that day and my remembery isn't always that good.
I'm pretty sure it does have Hemi and Dmax in there somewhere though.
Like I said I gotta go see him soon and I'll get the skinny.

It's a top fuel hemi engine with diesel pistons and very special billet diesel heads. Not a Dmax, nothing like a Dmax, not even a little bit. Only Dmax parts are injectors and cam sensor. Awesome engine, unbelievable work.

I guess you can call i t a re-engineered Duramax then. Curtis really is cutting edge and a very knowledgeable and nice guy.

well with a v8 design and lbz injectors, you certainly can't compare it to a cummins!

who cares if it's "nothing like a dmax", I'm going with it being dmax kinfolk anyway :thumb:
