I did drilled and slotted rotors on my truck about 3 weeks ago. So far i like them. Seems to bit better then stock ones. And i pull a ton, couple times a day at a minimum. I own a landscaping company. I cant really complain about stock, but i figured these have to be better.

Slotted I would do, but not drilled. Drilled takes away material on the rotor, and with our trucks, we need bigger brakes.

I just bought some EBC slotted and dimpled rotors, Hawk LTS pads, and Russell braided stainless lines. I'm going to try to get them put on in the next couple of weeks. This is what my rotors look like.

I ran the ebc 3dg rotors and ebc green stuff pads on my last truck and they worked well, I'd say %10 improvement over stock. This time I upgraded to the ssbc big bite Drilled and slotted rotors, while you do loose some material as bri mentioned, the metallurgy of the rotor is designed to cycle heat way way more efficiently, and handle more heat, however, they disperse much much more heat by passing it through the disc to the open cooling vanes, effectively removing the heat, as well as having slots in the rotor surface to help to clean the pad and give a place for gases to go during braking. Win win situation. :D

Nevertheless, any upgrade by a reputable company, that incorporate features in the rotor to remove debris and gases will perform much better than stock, cuz it will allow the pad to be cooler cleaner and be in contact with the rotor surface 100% of the braking duty. Without these features the pad will actually start to float on gases developed during braking, reducing contact, reducing braking efficiency.....

Alligator has a nice brake upgrade kit, complete with russel braided lines, or the ebc 3dg rotors are pretty good too, with yellow stuff pads, or maybe the new orange stuff pads and you will have a brake package that will perform much much better than stock:thumb:

I have ran slotted and dimpled rotors from Brake Performance for a few years now. There is a substantial improvement over stock. Its worth every penny. A complete kit can be had for about 500 bucks. They do hold up very well..I have these on a couple vehicles. Probably 160k on one set and going strong.
