They are bi-directional, right?

What gear reduction is most common for high power SBC (383 stroker)

I am switching from an alpha one, I know I will need a new gimbal assembly, and what else? Raw water pump?

I believe the bravo one can be ordered in left or right rotation (they use opposite rotations in twin applications). Gear reduction depends on weight of the boat, horsepower and what pitch prop you want to run. I will do some checking.

Depends on what RPM you are going to spin the motor, what pitch prop, and how fast you want to go. I've been out of this stuff for years, but an alpha can be built to take high hp, just not high tq. I am in the process of building a 337 SBC for my father that should be around 500-550 hp, spin 8500 rpm and make next to nothing for tq. This will push his 18' Donzi over 100mph with an alpha......maybe. The rpm maybe be a problem as most people have said 7500 is about the limit.....but we are going to try:D

I either doing the sbc or a 598 bb, but I am going to switch over to the bravo. This boat will be used in the gulf so, that should be one less thing to worry about.

The motor I have to build, well I thought it was a 4 bolt but it is not so back to the drawing board.
