Help: Brakes for the 6.5 / 350

I am having a problem when i mash my foot break the motor dies down and stalls. Is the break system on the 6.5 suppose to slow the motor down and slow the truck down also or how does it work??

I took the high pressure side spilced them in together. Spliced the low pressure in together and put my powersteering line on the return boy the foot pedal is the mutha to push. I need to go get a brake booster
