Brake light

Got stopped for a brake light violation and I replaced the bulb. It worked for a few days the. Stopped working again. I replaced the bulb again which still looked good both times and nothing. Tail light works but not the brake light. I hit the tail light with my hand and it worked buy now it wont light. Like I said tail light still works. Any body have any ideas?

You have either a corroded socket or a bad ground would be my first guess

The socket where you plug the bulb into is not corroded as far as I can see how could I check ground?

Get a 12v test light and first clip it to the body of the truck to ground it and check and make sure your hot wire has power and it the light lights up the make a small splice in the ground wire and clip the the test light to it and retest the hot, if it doesn't come on the it's the ground
