A friend of mine thinks his egr cooler is leaking and doesn't know if he wants to spend the extra $$ on a delete kit. What does everyone think of this and has anyone actually tried one?

His truck is an 07 LBZ and it's blocked and fingered already.

Could we just bypass the cooler with a hose from the heater core line to the thermostat housing?

Does he want the one off of my truck 07 Classic?

Truck had 22,367 miles on it when I pulled it for my delete kit.

I'd say the delete it worth it, unclutters the engine, flows better, and looks cool. :D

Thanks Cornell but i think we're gonna go with the $3 chunk of heater hose but if he decides he needs it we'd probably take you up on that offer.

I guess the question i have now is should i cap the pipes on the cooler when we bypass it or does it really matter? And it is 5/8 hose, right? I tried looking at the piece i put in when i put my delete on but there is no size on it and i was too lazy to measure. :D

Just pull the cooler out completely. You will just need to fashion a blocker plate w/ a support for the up pipe, and another plate for the back of the EGR motor. That's what I have done on mine except I have an LB7 up pipe.
