Checked compression tonight on my passenger side which has #s 1, and 7 out of spec on balance rates. Was kinda bummed to see some low numbers but not surprised as the truck has made me proud holding up this long to bigger sticks and twins. What do you guys think I should do? Turn it down for the time being?

Results:

7) 305
5) 295
3) 285
1) 330

Numbers seem low, but all still relatively close. Whats the other side #s looking like?

Motor hot or cold?

Pretty warm... Hot rodded it into the shop, ate a burger and milkshake then pulled glow plugs and went to it.

Unfortunately I did not have time to check the drivers side Tom. Ill try this weekend. Do you guys think this explains the balance rates being off?

at 250psi on my worst rod with 165k on the clock, i had snapped my piston skirt off from hitting the crank pretty good. the rest were at 300+ and were DAMN close to hitting the crank. if its really bent rods causing that low compression, i dunno if id keep driving it

does she haze in the mornings? worn rings ought to drop you to 360 or so at best from what everyone was telling me back when i was trying to figure out my hazing issue when i had bent rods

I had 200psi in #1, rod was short, piston looked like it came out of a dryer full of rocks, headgasket lifted, I had issues

Yes Hazes quite a bit @ idle... This is why I checked the balance rates on my 30k mile old 60 overs. When the balance rates turned up a bit out of spec, I decided to check compression.
