My truck is stock except it has a quadzilla stealth and a powerplay mp-8. What would help throttle response?

mod the intake horn, mod the air intake, add a down pipe and exhaust and you should see a nice difference

How do I mod the horn buy a new one?

how big an intake? if the tube is too much bigger than stock at the MAF it will cause a "laggy" condition. Black smoke is bad, its power and money your throwing out the exhaust. doing all i stated will decrease the amount of black smoke you see.

Yes you can buy another or buy a little carbide cutter and put it on a die grinder and go to town. there is a full write up on DP on how to do it yourself. i did my own and it made a little better spool up at 7,000 ft where i was living at the time

Does it have a egr blocker? id block that thing off as soon as you can if possible. If you really want to get down and dirty, you can pull the intake port the EGR hooks into and every part from there toward the intake ports on the heads to get teh junk out. You will still have all that junk in your head but the only way to get that out is to pull the head and have it hot tanked at a machine shop. Other than that, your pretty much good. id change all your fluid too (diffs, trans, t-case, ect) and check for pump rub too but i think you did that in another thread, cant remeber

ppl have reported a 30-40 hp gain with max effort built trans tuning on the lb7. for the $20 i dont think it would be something to overlook.

I disconnected it after i put my twins on and i could only hit 48-49lbs of boost. added it back in and im up to 55 :D

My point behind the valve is with my truck and the stock single turbo i had on before would hit 30-31psi all day long down here in the valley (1000ft above sea level) and 28-29psi in flagstaff (7000ft above sea level) WITHOUT a boost valve. concidering a stock IHI i will blow not long after running 32-33PSI post intercooler, I had no reason for a boost valve. This is why i suggest he get it IF hes seeing low boost with a big tune on a built trans and he knows his fuel system is keeping up.

On a compound turbo setup, thats a whole different story. I couldnt get over 45 psi on the race tune and power seemed "low", had the wastegate stay closed till id peak to 53-54psi and it was a different animal.

BTW justin, im not directing this at you or pickin on ya. Just putting this out for everyone  :D

I dont have a pic since my truck is federal emmison and never came with it but on one of the up pipes you will see a little tube coming off it to a valve that goes to the intake after the intercooler. that valve is the egr. if the up pipes have no extra tubes coming off them, then the egr was either deleted or you have a federal emission truck (i believe). You will know if your downpipe is stock or not. the stock one is 3-3.5" and the aftermarket ones are 4" all the way through. 95% of the exhaust systems out there dont include a downpipe with their system. only a very certain do and its still only an option that most people dont buy with their exhaust.
