Speed Week Schedule
August 18-24, 2008

Sun. Aug 17th
7:00 am Pits open.
10:00 am Fuel truck opens
8:00 am – 6:00 pm Inspection and registration.
Dusk Pits close.

Mon. Aug 18th
7:00 am Pits open. Staging lines open
8:30 am Course Stewards meeting at starting line.
9:00 am Drivers meeting (all drivers) at starting line.
Rookie Orientation to immediately follow (all NEW drivers and crews must attend)
10:00 am (+/-) Racing begins!
Sundown Racing ends
Dusk Pits close.

Tue. – Sat. Aug 19th-23rd
6:00 am Pits open. (upon arrival of the impound monitor)
7:00 am Record Return runs on all courses will begin. Qualifying will
begin on all courses immediately following Record Return runs.
Sundown Racing ends.
Dusk Pits close.

Sun. Aug 24th
On this, OR the last day of racing, Record Return runs will be on the same day.

I'm planning on leaving early Saturday morning and arriving Saturday night.

We may need pit crew help.

CB radios are the method of communication on the lake. Channel One is official channel for course workers and race crew.

Bonneville is right next to Wendover, Utah, which is where most folk with hotel rooms are staying. It's on the border of Nevada and Utah, with Casinos on the Nevada side.

It's about 650 miles north from Southern Cal. 6 hours by Corvette, 12 hours towing.

Pat I am headed up there to check it out on Wednesday or Thursday thru the weekend. bringing a friend or 2 and toy hauler, let me know if ya need any help. This will be my first time checking out the LSR scene.

I'll bring a cb radio or 2 as well. I think I have a few handhelds too.

Bring sunscreen, the white salt is like snow, you will get sunburn twice as fast as normal.

There will be food, and town ain't too far away, so anything you need can be had locally.

it would be cool to be a part of the pit crew but you would pobablty rather have guys you know . i'm an ase jouryman tech and can fix all but tranny's ( ask mike ) but either way i'll be there to watch its only 1 hr from slc

But everyone is free to come enjoy the Speed Week festivities and root for the Diesels. Out of about 500 entries so far, only 4? appear to be diesels. Lynn Goodfellow is going to try to shatter the British JCB record of 341 with his Duramax streamliner.

Heath Diesel will be there with their pickup running in the same class as Casper for the record.

Well, certainly Sunday & Monday. If we don't pass tech, or can't run, we will leave Tuesday morning. Otherwise we will run until something busts.

Pat, I'm racing in Salt Lake on Saturday. I can get there Saturday night and help for Sunday for sure. Monday may be a possibilty as well.
