I'd like to remove the fender flares and rub strips off the doors. The fenders should be painted under the plastic correct? Are the strips on the doors only held on with 2 sided tape or pinned? I'm not a fan of unpainted plastic parts.
Thanks.

Double sided 3M foam tape - the sooner its removed the better as you may have paint fade underneath. More than likely not though.

Again due to length and use there may be some small scratches around the lip of your fenders due to crap getting behind the fender flares, but you should be ok.

Use a 3M eraser wheel or goo gone and lots of elbow grease to get that tape/residue off.

This guy knows what hes talking about. I took my 4x4 sticker off, all the moldings and badges after being on my truck for 4 years and I didn't notice any fading. Another thing, use laquer thinner instead of goo-gone. It works just as well if not better and doesn't hurt the paint. The 3M eraser wheel is a lifesaver.

Thanks guys. After seeing all of the dropped hd's in the other thread I know what I'm going to do next.

The little scratches don't worry me much, I've got a PC to take care of them.

If I were to swap a SS front on do I just need the cover? or the whole support to go with it?

Mines in the bodyshop for some work right now and they are going to remove mine for me. Badges are already gone. Sure wish I could find one of them eraser deals.

The eraser saved my thumbs. I have de-badged and de-trimmed all of my vehicles in the past. I use to use my thumbs to remove the double sided tape from the door trim but after numerous blisters I finally bought an eraser.

My local Napa carries the 3m wheels.
Would they remove the 4x4 decals on the rear 1/4's?

A hairdryer, goo-gone, and a coat of wax should do that job no problem. I never use my eraser on vinyl decals. Just a little heat and my fingernail gets it started, then peel. Works for me everytime. :)

Ya for sure, just get a corner with your nail started and pull... sometimes it will tear but if you go slow you will be able to pull it off in strips and then a lil bit of goo gone or adhesive remover and a coat of cleaner wax after and you are set! I pulled mine off as soon as I got home from the dealer :D
