I never knew these existed. Did some reading and found out they were only made for 2 years for the US market. It has a BMW I-6 turbo diesel with a T3 turbo. Guys in Europe have them up over 400rwhp on stock everything. It has a Bosch VE pump and a popular mod is to put a Cummins cam plate in for big fuel! They are really hard to find in good shape or with motors because alot of the ///M3 guys seek them out for their forged steel cranks. You can still get the motor and swap it into various other vehicles like Rangers, S10s and older 3 series models. The ultimate beater car would be a 325i 5speed with one swapped in. Its a cool car that we didn't get to see much of, thought you guys might dig it.

85-87. Its a shame they stopped production. Its said to be the most free revving diesel ever and got 30+mpg. They actually based it off of their gas I-6. You could bolt a T3 Silver Bullet on and it'd be like a mini-Cummins!

Lincoln used that drivetrain also.

meh....Mercedes OM606 swap into like a 190 cossy would be way easier to source parts. And several 606's are well over 500 hp.

I saw that too Mike. Talk about a rare car!

That 606 is pretty bad ass. I saw a vid of one swapped in a Volvo 740.
I thought bimmer was cool because it came like that and was actually sold here at one point, yet hardly anyone has heard of them.
