I have potential access to a 2002 longblock.

I currently have a 2006 LBZ that I would like to build up at some point and am wondering if it would be nice to grab this up?

Not sure what is damaged on it but is there anything worth keeping off the 2002 motor to build up (i.e. good heads for machining, crank, block, etc.)?

The pistons would be a plus for you for sure id grab it if i were you.The heads wont do you any good but you can sell them for some cash and buy a set of lbz heads and have them.you can run the lb7 timing cover but you have to run the lb7 water pump and the lb7 fan pulley.Other wise just trans fer yours over and sell the others,If you run the lb7 crank and you want to run the the stock flywheel you have to run the lb7 flywheel and ballancer or you can run the ati dampner (for the lb7) and a billet flywheel (for lb7)

Thanks.

Is the block the same?

I understand the LB7 injectors were the weak point in the motor. How is the crank compared to the LBZ crank and are guys running much of an upgrade when it comes to that?

When guys are building these things up, are they stroking, boring, or running stock displacements?

Dont forget the reluctor wheels are different, too.
