I dont know about you, but I am with mine. I think mine will, just a matter of when, I usually just run a tow tune, but occasionally run the big tune for fun. I am just trying to get the thing paid off before it happens.

At 150hp over stock you don't have much to worry about at all. You are starting to push the limits of a stock trans but the engine should be fine - if something does break it is likely not caused by the tuning and would have failed at stock power levels. The reason you hear about more and more failures is because we are pushing them harder and harder. More and more people are running 12s and pushing over 500 rwhp in duramax's all the time.

If tuned truck owners are worried it only means you dont have the money to fix it. Either drive it like you stole it (tuned) or drive it like you bought it (stock).....and if you have the money to fix it and are still worried quit wasting bandwidth.

I think if you are worried, it has to take a lot of the fun out of it, so what's the point then?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to break things, and I really hate when it happens.... but I won't "worry" about it. I get it fixed, go have some more fun, and go on with my life.

It's your truck and your money. Enjoy and dispose of both as you wish.

My opinion anyway.

Same here if you are worrying about it breaking you cant afford to fix it in my book. You should be fine with that tune. I always beef up the parts that i know will break before they break. Its cheaper doing it that way.

i would also recommend getting an oil analysis done once in a while, and when really pushing the truck, maybe every oil change. we just learned quite a bit from the analysis results we got back a couple weeks ago, but to back them up we will send another sample in 5k miles. high lead and aluminum and copper numbers are never good to see. especially when you haven't proven to be over 500 RWHP. i will be doing a compression test in a few days and we always look over the truck before/after an event to make sure there's nothing changed. I can't imagine feeling comfortable at high power levels, lol, it must be nice to have a built motor:cool:

i always saw it the same way but quite a few of my friends have built motors and they say the feeling of worry never goes away , just cost more to fix if it blows up again  they just move from one fine edge to the next in the quest of going faster or pulling further .

Your tune should be fine but everything breaks sooner or later. Wait till you get into the 650 plus range. You won't believe the differences in the power verses what most guys are running around on.
