I have blown a hole in my intercooler boot (the inlet on the bottom left) for the second time now! is there an aftermarket boot that will hold my 56 psi of boost? They just keep popping like a balloon.

Just buy one of our hot side pipes in stainless and eliminate the elbow . Our pipe shoots straight into the intercooler .

Your boot that keeps blowing has a 90* bend in it, correct? If so that is your problem. The silicone elbows do not withstand well to high boost. You will need to pull your cold pipe off and weld a 3" 90* elbow to the bottom of pipe. Then you can use a straight 3" silicone boot.

As blackdirtymax said get an intercooler pipe that eliminated that elbow boot. Have the pipe come straight into the intercooler so you can use a stright boot. Make sure the end of the pipe has a good bead on it so your boot clamp will hold.:thumb:

I just put an AFE hot side intercooler pipe on my truck. It is a nice piece, 3" all the way down and eliminates the 90 degree boot.

We also have these in stainless for those wanting something a little more

When you weld on the metal elbow make sure you either use a bead roller on the end of the new elbow or put a couple 1" long welds around the end so that when you slide the straight boot on the clamp has something bite to. This will make blowing the boot off much harder.

Also do you have a factory ic pipe or did your mpi kit come with a new one? If its factory you will need to buy a 3" aluminum elbow compared to if its a mpi you will need mild steel.
