I have recently been having some trouble with it. It works fine on settings 1-4 but when I put it on 5 I can hear the motor (or something) click in the dash and it stops. Guess I just wanted to know if this is a common problem befor I go tearing stuff appart. Wanding if the motor goes out or if it is just a selinoid or a second motor or what.

Thanks

If i remember correctly, the resistor controls speeds 1-4. There is a common issue where the resistor connector melts and takes out the resistor due to a short. At that time you will need to replace both.

The level 5 bypasses the resistor and goes straight power from the blower fuse. It's in the fuse box in the engine bay.

I would check the condition of the resistor and connector first. Could be melted and not providing power for level 5 ...

I saw a company truck short out the wiring on 5 once but it still worked fine on 1-4. It shorted out under the passenger side dash.

x2 on the fuse under the hood. it is going to be one of the big fuses like for the trailer brakes. same thing happened to my truck paul. 1-4 worked fine and 5 clicked off.
