blower motor wont shut off

has anyone else had this problem i was driving home and had the heat on and all of a sudden it started blowing like it was on number 5 pulled over shut the truck off and it kept blowing moved the switch to the 5 position and lights would turn on so i drove the rest of the way home and it stayed like that finally played with the knob a bit and the blower shut off it happen one other time but that time i shut the truck off and it stopped any ideas??

Mine shuts off randomly. If I play with the switch it comes back on. I have never really looked into it. My buddies jeep liberty switch ran off vacuum and when the spring behind the switch got worn out it wouldn't switch. I don't know if these are similar.

Sounds like your resistor is starting to go. It's under the glovebox near the passenger side floor. Check for melted connections on it. They are common to go.

If it gets stuck on you can pull the fuse under the hood for a temporary fix.

In my experience if the fan doesn't shut off it needs a new blower motor resistor or blower motor or both. When mine did this I changed the resistor and nothing changed so I had to put a new motor in and then it was good.

Do you happen know what fuse it is I pulled some under the dash and it didn't help
