Blower motor speed

So my blower motor hasn't been as fast as I think it should be, so bought a new motor, installed it and same thing. My brother has a lbz and on high it'll move your hair and cool down his CC fast. All speeds work on mine, I'm just not sure if there's supposed to be that big of a speed difference between lb7 and lbz. Could it be the resistor or something else? It's manual controls.

Change or pull out the cabin air filter behind the glove box before you try anything else. Mines been gone for years, makes a big difference in air flow. 01-02 are the only years that came with them

K&N makes high flow replacements :D

A cabin filter is only bad when it isnt changed. ;) There is no downside to them otherwise.

O/P, your resistor is probably on its way out so its not supplying full voltage on high. Even on the 01-02s, they still go bad. But change the filter first.....its the less expensive way to go.

I checked for one, didnt see a location for a filter. My old blower motor had pine needles in the cage and was filthy. I'm wondering if my evap is dirty. If for some reason there is a filter there, does it filter on both fresh and recirc, or just one setting?

It will filter on both. You will need to google pics but there is a flat plate you remove on the hvac box behind the glove box that you have to completely drop down to get to. It’s literally behind the glove box. You squeeze two sides together on the box that lets the box pass the stop and fall all the way down. It’s right in front of you then

I found them. They're on the bottom of the heater box next to the blower motor. They were really bad. Put new wix filters in and all is good. I put my original blower motor back in and now everything is quiet and works perfect. Damn gm hiding the filters from me.lol

just about any car that has cabin air filters will have them behind the glove box like that or you can get to them from the bottom. there are so many people who dont know about them and it causes this same issue lol

least it was a simple fix!
