They have mahle Motorsport pistons listed as a $500 option. Putting those on the end of stock lly rods doesn't make much sense.

Depending on how its tuned and how hard you run it yes, I for see banana rods being a problem.

I couldn't have said it better myself. In lb7/lly we usually see rod failure before melting/cracking pistons. However, if they actually are mahle motorsports pistons, that is a sweet price.

It's added to the cost of over the standard pistons, how I take it. I have a truck I got on trade with this motor option with arp studs and mahle pistons. it seems to run good and smooth. just basically stock set up though
