Any idea why it cracked a head. A guy I pull with has a stroker and he's been having problems with his heads also.

14+ hours driving with 15w 40 delo in the cooling system, then getting in a race before I could fix it:D It got hot, found a bad oil cooler, I pulled the heads, went back with the bigger better studs, new cooler, new hoses, new t-stats, twins, and 5" exhaust before I found it, so I missed it the first time to:( then also found a spun water pump impeller. When you use modded heads as we do the removal of aluminum from the ports is not your friend when you overheat it. Leaves less room for error! i should have had the heads checked but I could prove a bad gasket so this ones on me, should have sent them back to Guy and had him check them before putting them back on, oh well, live and learn:thumb:

Thanks, so far other then stupid crap like the cooler its got close to 50,000 miles on it since the stroker. Engine wise its been trouble free. Just litle things keep happening. Oil leaks, cracked head, damn heater core pipe to rad hose broke at the weld on the bracket-in Pecos,Tx of all places:(. It will run again, soon and maybe we can finally start working on the tunes to get her to her potential.

Update

She has been on the road for 8000 miles, got her back for oil change and fluids change in general. Putting in a new kenwood touch screen and adding more sound deadener to the doors, some lights under the hood. Put in new boost gauges and now its scary to watch them and see what she actually does boost wise. Trent nailed the tunes first time, 1-5 all work awesome. In the 1 position max boost is 82 and in the 5 race it pegs the 100psi gauge and the other one show around 56-58 so I would guess around 115 Nathan built a hell of a set of twins for us. Finally with everything working this truck does what he has asked for and more than he ever expected. I want to thank everyone on here who helped me through the past several years getting her where she is now. Next should be more stroke haha I wished but the 7.1 gets the job done. Had to scold him for pulling his 10,000 load of oil field pipe at 75mph and then racing a dodge while doing it:roflmao:said he couldn't resist and walked off and left the dodge.

Its orange, lol, the powder coating didn't work out so well and when you paint over it it gets really bright. Those pics were taken with a crappy blackberry a few years ago. Its all chevy orange on the engine itself with black and polished turbos and pipes now. Here is a pic before the twins when we finished the stroker kit install.

Always too good to last. Fuse pop/came out of duel fueler feed wire not sure how far he drove it like this but now it refuses to run, he said it tries but clatters really bad and dies:( now I have to wait all week to travel the 90 miles next weekend to find out what happened? He fixed the fuse but Im not sure what kind of damage can be done if that pump goes full bore for anywhere from 50 to 90 miles at 90mph for most of the trip. Oh well, its a hot rod:thumb:
