Is the look worth the hassle? I've never owned anything black other than a severly beat 92 bonneville, so I guess I dont have a non-biased opinion, I really want a red LMM GMC, but not having any luck and after 2 weeks, still cant find anything I want. But I found a Black one that would be my dream truck if it were red, debating whether I keep holding out for a red one and hope I find one with the options I want or make a play for this black truck.

I dont mind so much that they look dirty all the time unless they've just been washed, I do mind all the swirl marks and chalky haze, that I noticed, is that still going to be a problem? Or is there anyway to deal with it? I dont wanna spend the money only to be dissapointed.

imhop nothing looks better than black but I might be a little biased:D They are hard to keep clean and they do scratch very easily. I would hesitate to buy another black truck. I was in the same situation when I bought mine a few years back.

My 04' was black, looked nice when it was clean but it started showing swirls and every little flaw. PITA to keep clean too. I went to an easy color after that, silver birch.

Yeah it's pretty high maintanence just about like you'd think. You'll notice things like scratches behind the door handles, which I have no idea how those get there.

Between the black paint and the wheels I have, mines a nightmare in the wintertime. So I don't worry about it too much. I've only handwashed it like 3 times ever, the rest is auto car washes, and an occasional acid wheel cleaner.

I like it when it's clean

It needs buffed out to get rid of swirls, probably have it done this spring by somebody that knows what their doing.

I'd buy one again though.

Yes a Clean Black Truck looks Good. But it is a bitch to keep looking good. Unless you have the time or the money to have it detailed. You are a slave to it. Buy I make the time to keep it clean.

Nice trucks, I figured I had the answers to my questions, sure is good to get the confirmation to them though. I think i'd of jsut been disapointed with a black truck although I guess I still wont rule it out completly, for the right price I'd buy one. I really like the look of black too, I just dont think I want the headaches of it.

Thats a good, deal, if I wasnt married to the idea of owning another GMC I think I'd check that one out. I've found a few, but I really started liking the idea of getting a SLT, since the cloth seats in these trucks ain't so great, and I would really rather get a truck with factory cab lights, I didn't enjoy the pressure I endured drilling holes in the roof of my 05. Lol, I was sweating bullets. Its only a $40 option I dont know why more trucks dont have them.

My last few trucks have been black. They are a PITA to keep looking good. I don't mind rubbin on my truck to keep it looking nice. When it's clean, nothing looks better IMO. I will always own black trucks. I have mine buffed by a body shop every spring and it looks awesome all summer.

It's a lot of work but well worth it to me.

It's becoming redundent but I'll say it too. Nothing probably looks better than a well groomed black truck (my ol lady's black 02 is soooo good looking after detailing it) but you can wear your self out keeping it looking that way. I won't have one as a daily driver unless the price was just too good to pass up. Now on a weekend warrior vehicle, game on cause black is about the sexiest color when it's clean.
