Has anyone run across this before? Steering binds when backing up parking.gonna start with pump. Any ideas? There's no binding in ball joints, I've checked already.
Thanks

Mine kind of did this when my Pitman and idler arm was severly worn. To check jack up one wheel and try and turn it left and right, it should not move. Mine would move something like 4 inchs.

Nope not in 4x4. I just put new GM pump in today, backing out of my shop... Put in drive ... Go to turn and completely lose power steering until I move. I'm thinking box!!! I wouldn't care so much but I can't back up a trailer at this point. The best I can deceive it is that your trying to turn with a snow plow on and not moving the truck. As soon as you move a inch it comes back.
