Dustin from ATS was runner up in Super Diesel. I managed to red light in the first round of Super Diesel just behind Verlon so I really missed up a golden chance to gain ground on him in the NHRDA national points race in SD. Still 70 points behind going into the world finals. Rob entered three classes, Superstreet, Prostreet and Prostock. Had a tranny issue, most likely a solenoid problem and it wouldn't go into first gear except manually. He made a bunch of passes launching in second geat. 60's sucked but it launched smooth and ran in the 9.7 very consistently. He lost in the semi final round of SS due to forgetting to shift out of first gear manually but won Prosteet and Prostock beating the bully dog truck in both classes. Track was the best preped we had anywhere this year. Had a great turnout of trucks in Sportman and Super Diesel and a good turn out in Superstreet. Just a few in Prostreet and Prostock and one dragster in top diesel. Good crowd as well. Big BBQ and a band after the event. Thanks To G & J for sponsoring the event and big tanks to Randy and the rest of the NHRDA crew for running a very smooth event.:thumb::thumb: No oil downs and only a broked tierod on one truck all day.
Dmitri ran the shop truck, it wasn't a dually, at least for this event. Had cheater slicks all the way round and he had to cowboy it down the track. It was all over the place but he did keep it in his lane. Drag strip is 1320 feet, I bet he made it closer to 1500 in that pass against Rob. It may be close to 8000 lbs when it has its street tires and tool box in the back, but I'm will to bet it was closer to 7500 or less for this event. Verlon's truck weighs 7800 in race trim with a huge bumper, real street tires and lots of added goodies in side. The only way the shop truck could have weighed 8000 lbs is if it had weigh added in the back seat, like 500+ lbs of lead.
