i have heard you make more power and spool up is better with a billet wheel. any one ever do before and after numbers either dyno or track?

doesnt matter what size you had as long as you kept the same size when you changed to billet

Haven't done back to back much yet to say for sure, but in a twin application around the factory charger with Rob's tuning and an S475 we can hit 60psi and in a hurry on a moderate tune. Changes in HP or track numbers will depend on the setup but it flows 7lbs/min more than the cast wheel on an S475 so that tells you what you need to know right there. You really get quite a bit for your money with the quicker spool as well as more air.

Yes, picked up .2 on a 10sec truck. Also, look into the BatMoWheel from Bullseye. Its their new Billet design and costs the same as the original Billet wheel. You have to buy it as a complete turbo with the race cover though.

On the smaller frame chargers your not nescessarily going to pick up peak power, your more than likely to pick up more peak torque. The testing FPE has done with our custom S366 Billet Compressor vs Cast didnt yield alot more peak HP but made nearly 50 more peak Ft/lbs of torque. The biggest story that the graph told on the back to back runs was that the FPE Billet wheel made between 100-150 more ft/lbs of torque from 1500 RPM up to peak which was around 2250.

This biggest difference is drivability; if the truck drives better, which means its more responsive, which means it spools quicker, which means it makes torque sooner. That all equats to a smoother driving, more powerful truck.

In some B to B testing last year on the big S4's nearly 100RWHP was gained by running a Billet Compressor over a stock cast borg wheel.

See I just don't know if it would worth my time and money to add a billet wheel. Becuz at the end of the day I'd like to do twins again (472/510) so I'm not sure it would help me any with that set up. What does a billet wheel cost? And can you by only the wheel?

You could just buy the wheel and put in your turbo. I think they recommend their race cover which is modded a little iirc. I want to say it was 800 for the wheel and cover.

Don't know on the 400 frames but on the 300 frames it cost around 700 dollars.

It is not manditory to do the race cover e the standard covers work fine with the Billet wheels pending you have the right wheel. Cost for wheel only is 400-500$$ range, we have a few differnt sizes in stock.

400-500 isn't bad. I already have a race cover. Trent in a twin set up do you think there would be a noticable gain? Do you have billet wheels for the 510?

Anay air flow gain in the high pressure is a good thing , and dont waste your money on any upgrades to a S510 , it puts the turbo up high enough in price there are better options for the $$ .

I see the ATS ad for their A-4000 turbo and it has a titanium wheel that is so strong and light it's ability to spool up fast is amazing so it says. Is this a true fact if we used this turbo it would be How Much? better than say a stock LBZ. Cost is what I'm afraid to ask about since it's titanium but hi perf. products cost. Does Fleece have any of those coming along in development maybe he was coming out with again for the LBZ/LMM?? Seems like these hotrodder shop guys would have them coming out for the street users. I would look real close at a price on a custom job for my LBZ if it was dyno'd and EFI'd to show a buyer what you could make for your truck's chosen uses. Just wondered...

Dallas Penn's 6000LB LBZ/Duraflite sporting an FPE Billet S366/73 and Running a 10.9 before getting kicked out for "lack 'O' cage" :D

Doesnt really speak much of driveability, but speaks of potential!

Ill say this, my charger now never left me disappointed, it DD's awesome and tows very well for what it is. Driving a FPE Billet 66 in comparison to mine, there is without a doubt a noticeable difference. They spool even quicker then my stock 66 in a Gated T3 housing, and are noticeably more responsive in mid-curve. One of these days Ill try one on my truck and see what itll do with 23k behind me....
